Quality Approval at the Heart of Kuwait Radio’s Digital Archive

Specialized training sessions were recently delivered to the Kuwait Radio department of the Ministry of Information as part of the audio legacy digitization project. The focus was on two key groups: producers who validate digitized audio content and archivists who safeguard metadata quality and annotation accuracy.

Producers deepened their skills in evaluating the transferred legacy materials, actively reviewing audio quality and providing structured feedback and comments to Al Rashed, the service provider in the project. Archivists participated in practical exercises that strengthened their ability to capture consistent, detailed metadata and apply clear, reliable annotations across the collection.

Technical and quality-related metadata generated by the NOARecord ingest application provide a clear and unambiguous basis for reliable quality control and assurance of this valuable archive content.

Throughout the sessions, both teams showed strong motivation and quickly became confident working with NOA mediARC, the underlying Archive Asset Management system. The tight integration of tools within mediARC provides a unified platform for all related tasks within the project and the entire archive, supporting efficient, consistent and transparent workflows not only during the digitization phase, but also for the use of the archive content in decades to come.mediARC Archive Asset Management system, carrier view (exemplary screenshot)mediARC Archive Asset Management system, carrier view (exemplary screenshot)

This successful training marks an important milestone in the project and lays a solid foundation for continued collaboration in support of MOI Kuwait Radio's long-term archiving strategy. Our sincere thanks go out to the MOI Kuwait Radio teams for the great cooperation throughout this and all other phases of the project.
