FrameLector PICO is an all-in-one video digitization solution including FrameLector software with licenses for 1 to 4 channels of SD or HD input, the VTRi hardware, RF-Sensorplates, and PicoService - providing a compact, production-ready system.
It enables high-quality transfer of analog and digital video sources (via SDI), supports up to four parallel digitizations, and integrates seamlessly with existing orchestration environments, making it a scalable and reliable solution for professional archives.
FrameLector PICO is installed on a PC provided by the client based on NOA’s recommended specifications. Alternatively, a fully configured turnkey system or rental setup can be provided by NOA on request.

FrameLector PICO is also offered as a fully integrated, ready-to-operate rental system, including professional video playback devices and PC workstation. Each unit is pre-configured, tested, and optimized by NOA prior to delivery. The system arrives plug-and-play ready, enabling rapid deployment and immediate start of digitization workflows.
FrameLector helps archives move beyond simply detecting visible errors by helping to identify where quality issues actually originate. When analyzing files created from earlier transfers, it is difficult to determine whether defects were burnt into the picture (e.g., as a result of a previous migration) or originate from a physical problem during the latest recording. NOA’s transfer quality control addresses this by logging concrete physical transfer issues that cause picture or sound errors.
During and after transfer, operators receive a clear, comprehensive overview of all relevant quality and content information, enabling faster decisions, targeted corrective action, and more reliable preservation results.
By connecting to NOA's RF-Sensorplates, FrameLector goes beyond standard ISR event capture by enabling direct RF signal acquisition during recording for deeper transfer insight. Using this dedicated sensor plate mounted at defined points inside the VTR, the system captures the RF signal and forwards it to FrameLector for detailed analysis. This allows operators to identify transfer issues early and safeguard digitization quality.
A key advantage is broad player compatibility, with support for a wide range of legacy machines, including U-Matic, 1-inch C, DV, DVCPro, Betacam SP, and Betacam SX.
