No Time to Wait!
On November 9th and 10th, the Filmmuseum in Vienna will be hosting the second symposium "No Time to Wait" - a meeting of the Open Source Digital Film Preservation Community. The photochemical physical film and its preservation (as object, medium, and cultural technique) is at the center of the work of the Filmmuseum. However, the cinema and its production and preservation technologies do not end with the introduction of the digital domain. It is also important for film museums and archives to be vigilant in questions of digital long-term archiving and open standards are essential.
