NOA First Time at NAB in LasVegas

On Display at NAB2015

ingestLINE™ Overview within jobDB or mediARC:

The ingestLINE™ media transcription system allows users to digitize extensive AV collections easily, securely, and economically. Comprised of hardware and software components, and using built-in automation for maximum accuracy, the system notifies users of critical technical problems during transcription using traces-aided spot listening (TAS) algorithm analysis, a common algorithmic recognition that is preset with different offsets for different carrier types. This quality-related information – collected at the moment of ingest – is then stored in the jobDB™ or mediARC™ workflow system, allowing for both a centralized quality assessment, and export from the workflow system into a BWF(audiol)  or MXF/AVI (video) as well as an XML report.
IngestLine is comprised of four modules:

FrameLector: RF logging for Analog Video Tapes, ISR Logging for Digital Video Tapes and shoot detection.

FrameLector is a workflow integrated ingest client that provides a simple and intuitive user interface for efficient and quality controlled mass transcription of video tapes. As an easy-to-use ingest tool that combines built-in shot detection and recording into a mathematically lossless open-source mezzanine format in either 8bit or 10bit, FrameLector allows users to capture SD material - along with its required metadata such as VITC and LTC timecode - without compromising quality.

NOARecord: Multistream Ingest and Transcription with Precision and Control for Disc, Analog Tapes and Cassettes

The NOARecord ingest system bundles software and hardware to transcribe up to four stereo analog sources of various kinds in parallel. The NOARecord hardware consists of workstations for PC and the A/D conversion, monitoring, and interface components, while the software offers high-precision control and monitoring tools and a clearly structured user interface for multiple simultaneous sources. It displays relevant recording and playback parameters of all stations on a single screen, so you get an overview of the most important functions at a glance.

MediaLector: Scalable, Quality-Controlled Mass Migration For Digital Tape

MediaLector is NOA’s ingest tool for quality-controlled mass migration of DATs and MiniDiscs from one to eight parallel stations. Running on the N6073 host, it is capable of transferring up to eight stereo sources in parallel at 44.1-48 kHz resolution, extracting the audio information, and annotating relevant subcode while scanning the signal using NOA’s algorithmic detection described above. MediaLector also constantly monitors the status of error-correction stages in the DAT drives, and annotates the quality-relevant data synchronously to the audio stream with Sony DAT machines. The result is a 100% documented audio transfer with a digitisation proof-stamp written to the database along with the audio material.

CDLector: Mass Cd-Ripping That Can Make A Jukebox Obsolete

NOA’s CDLector station is a mass CD-ripping system that can handle up to eight parallel streams. Designed to extract audio from CDs into digital audio objects with perfect control over interpolation, it can deliver optimal results even for heavily damaged items. CDLector prompts you to put the right carrier into the drive with automatic opening/closing of the corresponding drive in automatic mode. Alternatively, the system can use the carrier barcode to fetch the corresponding metadata item to be digitized. In most cases digitization of the carriers requires no hands-on operation. CDLector includes algorithmic analysis as well as advanced metadata retrieval, and supports four read modes to suit a variety of accuracy and speed requirements.
